Pre-Production Team
Props: AVAILABLE
- Goes through the script and highlights/takes notes of where there could be a prop. Send over to Producers
- Figures out where/who you will receive props from
- Makes sure all props are on set/return props once production is wrapped
- Possibly could be a committee
Production Designer: AVAILABLE
- Creative decisions for mood, tone, and aesthetics for the film
- Head of Props and Costumes
Costumes: AVAILABLE
- Goes through the script and chooses clothing style
- Asks cast to see if they have requested costumes… if not, find them.
Casting Director: AVAILABLE
- Communicates with the director and producers to choose a cast
- Hold auditions
- Take notes during the auditions to show the producers
- Choose the cast with the director
Production Team
Director: AVAILABLE
- Approve the Director of Photography’s shot list
- Direct the cast during filming
- In close communication with the 1st Assistant Director
Boom Operator: AVAILABLE
- Be familiarized with the audio equipment
- Rolls audio during filming
- Is encouraged to have a good pair of headphones (preferably not Apple, not earbuds)
1st Assistant Director: AVAILABLE
- In charge of the crew
- Makes sure all departments are ready to roll
- Is the liaison between director and crew
- Has a copy of the script/shot list/call sheet
- Keep everyone quiet while rolling
- Makes sure crew is taking breaks and is looking at previously shot scenes
Camera Operator(s): AVAILABLE
- Photographs the scene as directed by the Director of Photography
- On focus, white balance, ISO, shutter and aperture, sound
- A Camera – tripod shots
- B Camera – hand held shots
Director of Photography: AVAILABLE
- Directs the camera operator(s) and gaffers to properly set up the shot
- Creates a shot list and goes over it with the director
Script Supervisor/Continuity: AVAILABLE
- Follows the script during shooting
- Makes sure that every shoot that’s scheduled gets done
- Responsible for catching errors in continuity
- Changing shot list as we go
Gaffer: AVAILABLE
- Head of electrical department (lighting)
- Responsible for moving the light to where the Director of Photography wants them
- Set up and strike lighting during shooting days
Key Grip: AVAILABLE
- Responsible for the equipment needed for the shot
- Makes sure everything is secure and safe
- Makes sure all batteries are charged
Post Production Team
Lead Editor: AVAILABLE
- Must have taken COM335
- Edit concurrently while filming is in progress (includes music and sound effects)
Assistant Editor(s): AVAILABLE
- Must have taken COM335
- Upload and ORGANIZE all audio and video files into AVID and Google Drive immediately after each shoot
- Assist lead editor with anything they need
- Find sound FX and other assets needed in post
Assistant Lead Editor: AVAILABLE
- Edits side projects and promos
- Oversees other Assistant Editors
Daily Editor: AVAILABLE
- Makes a rough edit of the day’s shoot and sends it to the executive board
- You can edit off any software
Creative Content Team
Advertising/Graphic Design: AVAILABLE
- Create a color scheme and theme for the semester
- Creates, prints, and hangs posters
- Come up with creative ways to advertise Hilltop Films around campus (we need a higher following around campus)
- Communicate with social media for posting designs
Promo Team: AVAILABLE
- Create short films for advertising and promotion
- Create a schedule and stick to it
Writing Team: AVAILABLE
- A team of writers working semester-long on the next script
- Review progress with Producers
